Mmm, Two Towers.
Jan. 11th, 2003 03:40 amAround 2230, left for Centreville, got to the theater around 2245, met Nathan, bought my ticket, and we went to the Shark Club, a classy pool hall a few minutes away. (Fortunately, I'd changed into nicer clothes before heading out. :) Played a game and a half--I won the first, we decided he was closer to winning the second--had a couple pints of Guinness, he asked the server and the cashier for their numbers, was told twice, "I have a boyfriend", and back to the theater we went.
Most of the previews looked good-to-decent. The movie, well, wow. Damn fine work from one end to the other. I read the books a year ago, so I don't really remember the divergences, and thus they don't bother me. I don't care that part of book two will be in movie three; they're really a continuum of movies, much like the books were one long story. (However, Matt's synopsis of "we're running.. we're running.. we're fighting.. we're running.." has some merit. And now that I've seen it, someone needs to direct me back to that parody that's on LJ somewhere, that many people mentioned earlier.)
It got damn chilly out, we found upon leaving the theater. Also discovered that it only takes me 10 minutes to drive home with no traffic, obeying the speed limit, even.
And it's windy enough to be blowing recycling around the yard. Ah well.
