Everything Zen?
Jan. 12th, 2003 09:14 pmSure, why not?
Went over to Nathan's around 3, after stopping at the bank (to deposit a paycheck), the grocery store (to get a 12 of Sprite for Nathan), Petsmart (to pick up bird food and visit Christina), and the gas station (for obvious reasons, and to add oil). Had Chinese, which he'd ordered earlier, and set out on nice plates 'n' stuff. Exchanged gifts; I gave him this squishy bundle of bugs in the guise of a squishy toy in a net (from Spencer's), from a company practicing "The Zen of Tactile Toys". He gave me Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, a book I'd been meaning to read and that he learned was not, in fact, primarily about motorcycle maintenance--a fact I already knew. :)
We then watched some TV: TLC or Discovery (military aircraft), Fox (Futurama, Simpsons), and TBS (Pretty Woman). I left around 8 to be back before my parents got home (flight in at 8:30); got back to the surprise of finding a) Yusef and son still here finishing work on the flooring, and b) Steph/Matt/Brendan here moving some furniture back into place and making sure enough work got done that mom won't have problems working tomorrow.
And now I go offline for a bit, so Shauna can sign into AOL from school and send large attachments--other available mail programs won't allow it.
Update, later: Turned into about an hour offline, because even after helping her set up her Mac to connect to AOL via TCP/IP, it still took about an hour to send one 6.1MB attachment--SU's network has some serious issues with outside-world connectivity. The other 5MB attachment she could send through Entourage, so back online I am. I had been online previously for 3056 minutes (just over 2 days) on AOL dialup. :)
