Headed up to Esther's in Rockville for her board game night around 1930. Met many of her Borders coworkers, and later a few people from her swing dance club who showed up late. Had assorted tasty foodstuffs, and then the gaming began.

First game, Perudo, theoretically about "bluff, guesswork, strategy, and luck," but really more about "guesswork, luck, and confusion." We still had a decent time of it, but I wasn't disappointed when I ran out of dice and went to get some ambrosia. :)

Meanwhile, several of the other people were playing Egyptian Ratscrew (card game, speed and quick reactions). After that, it was girls vs. guys for Outburst.

That game done, more card gaming commenced, and I took three other guys for a game of The Omega Virus--the game I brought, after perusing my collection of 16+ board games plus several block and card games. I don't even know how long I've had that game, but I hadn't played it in so long that the AA batteries had corroded together! Anyhow, it was a lot of fun--and one of the guys had actually heard of it before! He was the only one. :)

In the morning, I'm going to try to get up for the breakfast lunch ride with SCRCFX folks. It usually starts at 08, kickstands up at 0830, at the BK near Manassas Airport, and well, I just can't drag myself out of bed before 07 to make the 30+-min. ride out there in time, so I've never been on it. This time, though, the other organizer picked 09/0930 instead, so I stand a better chance of getting up in time. ;)

My ride this morning with SCRCFX folks--Lorton to Manassas, then to Sperryville, Culpeper, lunch, back up near Manassas, down near Quantico, and back home. Almost 200 miles, all told, and just over 5K on the odometer now. :)

(That said, I'm not canceling my account or anything--I've yet to have any problems, and I never use it for large purchases, and rarely use it at all.)

Rather to Nathan's and my surprise, ABC's new show Desperate Housewives was quite entertaining, and quite bizarre. Will continue watching. :)
(And Boston Legal looks entertaining, and Airplane will be on at 11. Woo!)
