Hope we don't lose power.. at least, not before I post about today, and possibly catch up on LJ--about 110 new entries since 0630 today! :P

Today, I worked Petsmart 7-3, and was visited by none other than the lovely [livejournal.com profile] shadowsong, around 1030-11, when I went on break.. I then ran into her again in Shoppers, where I went to get lunch. :D (She's leaving for Seattle again soonish, knew I worked at one of the two big Pet* stores, and figured she'd stop in--visited the ferrets at Petco, and me and the cats at Petsmart. :) I also picked up a Bird Bath spray (more effective than plain water, and endorsed by Christina and her Amazon parrot) and a pack of Stink-Free deodorizing units to stick on the ferret cage.

While at work, mom called, asking if I could take the cat to the vet after work (for her annual checkup, plus a "why's she eating less/yowling more/unstable?"), so I did. Diagnosis: slightly dehydrated, possible pancreatic infection, kidneys on the small side, some minerals a bit high or low, but everything else just fine--remarkably so for a 15-year-old cat. :) Gave her 100cc of subQ fluids with some minerals, plus an antibiotic (which my mom will have no fun whatsoever trying to adminster 2x daily for 2 weeks). Time at vet: 1600-1730.

Back home, I had some leftover chicken and avocado salad, chatted with parents/sisters, watched Wheel of Fortune and some Jeopardy, and went on my way. On the way out, I jotted down some info about the neighbor's Jeep, stopped by Petsmart to pick up a latchable storage bin for my bird's food--still in my Petsmart shirt, mind you, so I got asked about a sick hamster and some wild baby bunnies)--and headed home. Currently, there's heavy rain and very impressive thunder and lightning outside, which started while I was driving. w00t. :D

(Boo, I just learned that the office window is lacking the springs needed to stay up. :P)

I agree with her--if I'm bored, it means I'm probably a) procrastinating and b) too lazy to do the things I have available. How about you? Do you get bored?

1) Caltech's Infrared Zoo! (from [livejournal.com profile] sylvie)

2) Nathan, as an incentive for him to work start working out every night--we have an elliptical runner and a disassembled weight bench in the house--has agreed to pay me $5 for every weeknight where he sits in front of the TV all evening, if I point it out the next day. If that fails to keep his workout ethic up, he'll increase the amount. I'm a personal trainer with no actual work involved! :D (Of course, I intend to start working out regularly as well, but without a monetary risk. ;)

3) Sunoco mailed me today saying, "WE MISS YOU! You have not used your Sunoco card for over 9 months. Do you need a new one? Can we assist you in any way?" etc. Well, let's compare my gas cards.
Sunoco Gasoline card: $250 limit, $75 24-hr limit, no rolling balance--if these limits are exceeded, the card is deactivated until the debt is paid down under $175, or the next day, respectively--21.6% APR, usable only at Sunoco gas stations, which aren't the most common things.
Exxon/Mobil MasterCard $4K limit, standard credit-card-style rolling balance, 16.24% APR, usable anywhere MC is accepted, 3% rebate on all Exon/Mobil purchases (disbursed monthly), 1% rebate on all other purchases. I don't carry a balance on it, it's paid off monthly as if it were a plain gas card.

Wonder why I was already considering cancelling the Sunoco card?

Oh yeah! Happy birthday, Kathy! :D
