I'm liking Cox Internet less and less lately.. this is the second unexplained multi-hour outage in under a week. On the plus side, that gave me an excuse to shower, run out to the auto parts store for some supplies, and come back to wash my motorcycle. Now, despite the best efforts of the terribly hard water here to give it a spotty finish, it's all shiny.

Also, I'm finally getting around to listening to the stack of 15 mix CDs Phill gave me a year or so ago. :)

In other news, I have a phone interview with Bechtel Nevada later this afternoon. On the plus side, it'd be a pretty cool mechanical engineering job; on the minus side, a) I think I'm significantly underqualified, and b) it's in Nevada, where I have no great desire to move.

Well, I think the phone interview with the Bechtel Nevada folks went fairly well. On the other end there were several men from engineering, team leaders, and perhaps others; we talked of my history, experiences, education, and skills, as well as what the job could entail. (Mostly, it deals with electronics packaging, which means a lot of electrical and mechanical work, design and prototyping and implementation, cradle to grave.) I think it went pretty well; they'll talk and get back to me at some point.

Okay, this is just weird. Or, if you believe in fate, entirely understandable. Background: when I was younger, two of my favorite names (as for a baby) were Christine and Jason.

Fische225 (18:05:13): btw: if i'd been a boy, my name would have been jason. weird.
CU Stryker (18:05:24): that's entirely too weird.
Fische225 (18:05:59): of course if i'd been born a boy, i guess that means you would have been born gay. ;-)
CU Stryker (18:06:22): fate works in mysterious ways? ;-)
Fische225 (18:06:40): indeed.

[livejournal.com profile] michaelduff/[livejournal.com profile] notjaffo just posted chapter one of his book as a teaser. Dammit, now I want to read the rest! (I mean, I did before, sight unseen, but now I've seen some!)
