Prior to leaving for Alchemy, I IMed with Bea for a while, sorting out Saturday's plans, among other things--Nathan and I will meet her at her [parents'?] house before convoying up to Silver Spring to hear some good old honky-tonk, courtesy of Western Bop. :)

Driving into DC, there was ridiculous traffic heading from 95N onto 95N/495E--masses of trucks with the occasional car for good measure, for no visible reason. Fortunately, I wasn't going that way, so it only slowed me down a bit. Once at Nation, I decided that there were entirely too many people in DC for the Gala de Reagan, resulting in a 20-minute search for parking nearby--I only had enough cash to get in, not park in controlled lot and also get in.

Anyhow, encountered [livejournal.com profile] learath first, then [livejournal.com profile] teky4lf, and later [livejournal.com profile] pictsy, Bagel, [livejournal.com profile] lanikei, [livejournal.com profile] underfiend, [livejournal.com profile] anizee, [livejournal.com profile] lilscotchgirl, and perhaps others I've forgotten, but no [livejournal.com profile] cheshirrrecat. Sadness!

I also learned of Bagel's birthday party next Friday, which distressingly coincides with [livejournal.com profile] gothiccripple and [livejournal.com profile] beastinme's Midsummer Party, which I've known about a good deal longer.. boo!

Eventually, after 02, the partying started to die down, basically just the club side, and while walking to my truck I'm pretty sure I got scammed out of $2 by a woman claiming a car break-in, police assistance, half-price cab, etc., etc. Oh well.

Nathan and I watched Love, Actually, and it was delightful, if you like romantic comedies. Quite a cast, too--Liam Neeson, Emma Thompson, Keira Knightley, Hugh Grant, Rowan Atkinson, Elisha Cuthbert, and Shannon Elizabeth, among others.

Two more movies watched today:
  • Night of the Living Dead (the 1990 remake), which was predictable B-movie horror. Entertaining.
  • Big Fish, which was wonderful. Delightful, even. :D
Most men, they'll tell you a story straight through. It won't be complicated, but it won't be interesting either.

    Weather got rainy again. Bah!
