Darwin-Free Fun for Creationists
"My kids kept recognizing flaws in the presentation," said Mrs. Passmore, of Jackson, Ala. "You know — the whole `millions of years ago dinosaurs ruled the earth' thing."

It occurred to me, while lying in my bed and noticing less-than-clear vision, that asymmetrically-weighted contacts only necessarily hold their proper orientation when your eyes are pointed more or less forward, not skyward. :)

Finally got around to getting boxes and bubble wrap to mail motorcycle parts to the guy in AZ--to which I added lots of crumpled newspaper and empty plastic bags--which I'll weigh today if the self-serve lobby of the PO is open on Sundays.

Upcoming photos: sleeping sprawled puppy, sleeping sprawled lizard, and a nice custom chopper.

Is it just me, or does anyone else have a problem thinking of the pronunciation of the word "womyn" as anything other than a rhyme with "bombin'"? (And think that replacing "women" with "womyn," "history" with "herstory," and the like kind of petty in the grand scheme of women's rights?)

Good: The local Post Office's lobby is open 24/7. It has a postal scale.
Bad: The scale's range is 0-4 lbs and I need to weight 10-15lb packages.

Good: I rode my motorcycle up to Tysons Corner to visit the Apple Store to exchange my unopened USB [printer] cable without calling ahead the feasibility of this venture.
Good: They made an even exchange with no difficulty.
Good: I also compared the two Airport Extreme Base Stations (with and without modem/antenna port) and decided I need neither the modem nor the extra range from an external antenna, meaning I can get the cheaper model later. I also got to talk to one guy about bikes and another about wireless hotspots.

Good: I made it home ahead of the forecast storms.
Bad: It's suppose to storm tonight and tomorrow. Bleah!

Watched the first half of 10.5 on NBC tonight.. not feasible or scientifically accurate, sure, and the acting is iffy, but it's entertaining nonetheless, and I intend to watch or tape the rest Monday night. :) (Tuesday night, 2nd-to-last episode of Frasier; Thursday night, 2-hour last episode (!) of Friends.)

Monday or Tuesday, hanging out with Shaye before she skips back off across the pond! :)

I think we've induced a neurosis in these dogs regarding the laser pointer.. they'll keep looking around for it for at least half an hour after it's been turned off!
