  • Big plate of pasta/sauce, leftover from last night. Still at least two meals left over. :)
  • To Latebra, saw Brooke's new car--'98 Subaru Impreza. Nice!
  • Met Brooke's brother Luke, who brought the Impreza, and is returning home in her old station wagon.
  • To Tilley's in the station wagon. Had a tasty apple crumb cake slice and two glasses of port--house (good), and 10yr reserve (really good). Cute redhead behind the bar. :) Drooled over the review of the VW Touareg in the Canberra Times, especially the twin-turbo V10 diesel version, with more torque than the Viper, Cayenne, and GT, and impressive handling to boot.
  • To Woolworth's to pick up some alcohol and soda for the house; I stayed outside at the St. Vincent de Paul van for coffee, cookies, and chat, hopped in the car as they were leaving.
  • Back at the house, had some drinks, listened to music, talked electrical wiring with Oscar and Simon.
  • Biked to the hotel as they caught a cab; shortly meeting them at icbm/Insomnia for Retro night. Woo! :D

Well, it occurred to us that Retro night at icbm was last weekend, so tonight was just regular crap at icbm and regular decent techno at Insomnia. Danced with Brooke/Luke/Simon/Oscar for a while, then headed up to Insomnia, where I ran into a regular whose name I've forgotten, got some glowsticks, stayed there for a while. Headed back down, then up, then down, found Oscar and Alex. Back up, stayed there, eventually joined by Oscar and Alex, who eventually left. Took some pictures of the place that I'll upload later, and headed home. Up next: work at 9am!

    Humor from [livejournal.com profile] sylvie:
  • From the Onion, 8/1/01: Bush Finds Error in Fermilab Calculations
  • From The Morning News, 2/20/03: Schrödinger's Iraq
Bush: Precisely. If you view Iraq in a classical Newtonian framework, then you must concede that they either do or do not have weapons of mass destruction. It is this narrow mindset that causes such confusion in the uninformed.

But, over President’s Day weekend at Camp David, I delved into the collected writings of Erwin Schrödinger, and now have no recourse but to conclude that Saddam both has and does not have weapons of mass destruction.

Worked 9-4, most of it up in the ceiling, sorting out wires and connections. Can't do it during regular weekday office hours, as the ladder would prevent the office's occupant from using his desk. Might go in tomorrow (Sunday) with Miguel to get more work done on it, else it'll have to wait for after-hours or next weekend.

In the morning, called home to find the family out for dinner. At lunch time, called home for an hour, chatted with dad/mom/Shauna. 'Twas good. :D

And now, since the mall is still open, I think I'll do a bit of shopping, and pick up a phone card to top up my cell phone--$0.12 won't let me reach out and touch much of anything. :)
