After waiting a half-hour longer than expected--our fearless team leader told us 0730 last night but amended it to 0800 and only told one of us--and then another half-hour for a taxi on an abnormally busy morning, we got ourselves to work. And then, due to various administrative holdups, we realized that there wasn't a lot we could do yet--stuff had to be moved but couldn't yet; most of the local staff will have three weeks off for the holidays, etc. However, we did find some places for stuff to go, so we moved it.. some very large shipping crates (which went near a trailer we'll be moving from soon), and several dozen rolls of wire, ranging in weight from 5 to 130lbs--that had to go down the hill, down a lot of stairs, into a building, down a hall, up a few stairs.. and there they sat while we rested. Then again they were moved, into a generator room that varied in temp from 80-105ºF depending which corner you stood in, and of course the available floor space was in the hot corner. We spent as little time as possible in there, but the two big guys who were working mostly outside still had a hell of a time of it. (It was pretty hot out in the sun, too.) Fortunately, we did have a 4x2 Gator--not as cool, powerful, or smooth-riding as the 6x4--to cart a lot of stuff around the compound, but not down stairs or hallways. ;)

After all that, we pulled a bit more cable and Damon wired most of a jumper box, which took us through the end of the work day, up in an "attic" which is, surprisingly, quite a nice set of office space. :)

This song has a great video, incidentally.
