One could call it a productive evening...

IMed a bit with Kristy, later her sister Heather (who was just getting up for work), and for quite some time with Laura. Had leftover pasta but have yet to get around to making additional food. Replied to a small slew of LJ comments. Poked at LJ Support a bit. Sent 16 emails, in response to messages both old (1/1/03) and new (minutes ago).

Also, xviragox points out that apparently GWB has given federal employees an extra Christmas holiday for Friday 12/26. I'll still be in Canberra, the local crews will still be off for three weeks, and I'll probably still be working that day--but the extra holiday pay is nice, since my company follows the FedGov holiday schedule. ;)

Update, 0100: Make that 17, and a shower followed by sandwich won out over sleep for a while. :)

Whisking, Working, Partying

This evening's lesson: Don't get any more condensed soup, unless I also want to get a whisk. A fork just isn't an adequate replacement.

Today, we did a lot of surveying of existing systems and conduits and wiring, discovered the horrendous rat's nest that is the heart of that existing system--and is, from what we're told, much better than it was previously. Also, we encountered a roof access door that took a good solid shove to open, and then two strong guys--one of whom pulling via his belt around the doorknob, which broke in the process--to close again. We made a hell of a racket down that stairwell, but no one commented..

Tonight, a club or two, at my teammates' discretion. :)
