Emissions retest!
Jul. 3rd, 2003 05:10 pmTwo years ago, my truck passed emissions inspection with flying colors.
Two weeks ago, my truck failed the same rather spectacularly--values of both HC and NO too high at both 15 and 25mph.
Since then, I've run a bottle of "Greased Lightning Concentrated Fuel System Treatment" through, refueled with premium gas ($37 worth!), replaced the spark plugs, wires, distributor cap, rotor, and air filter, and made sure the engine was still hot when it was tested. Considered checking/adjusting the timing, but couldn't without dad's help, and he won't be home until after the inspection station closes.
Inspection guy was surprised to see me again, since I was just in a few days ago for the safety retest. He suggested I keep the engine running while waiting in line, which I was already doing. After the test, and while waiting for the results, he commented that it didn't -feel- any different than before, and that I must really like this truck--I do, in fact, but it's more that I can't afford to replace it yet, so it needs to pass this month. When I start at RDR, I'll sell the truck to Katia and replace it. :)
( The envelope, please.. )
This evening's plans include:
a) moving a lot of stuff to Lorton, particularly clothes, bed frame, and computer
b) moving myself to Lorton
Tomorrow's plans include:
a) Driving up to NY for a fabulous holiday weekend with Melody and her family and friends
b) Starting said fabulous weekend in such a way as the rest of the weekend will naturally follow
=)
