Worked 3-11.
As of noon, next week's schedule wasn't posted yet, which made scheduling interviews (phone for Stryker, real for Best) next week rather difficult. Took my cell to work at 2:45, and by about 4 or so the schedule had magically appeared, though with tentative bits. Left messages for Sheldon (Best) and Jane (Stryker), calling from the access alley behind the tanks--surprisingly good reception. :) Minutes later, I got a store-phone call from mom, who said Sheldon had called and would be in until ~5. Called him back again, scheduled an interview for Monday 1:30pm. Called Jane's voicemail again, updated her on my phone-time availability.
Around 10, got a call from home--Steph had let my macaw climb out of her cage to play on top, assuming she'd go back in politely. Not so! And, as she was trying to bite at anyone who tried to get her down, as well as at the drapes, I round-tripped to home in about 15 minutes to put her away--easily, mind you. ;) (Steph, Matt, and Matt's parents were visiting, eating Chinese and chatting; the bird was out for their benefit. )
Back to work, finished feeding animals and cleaning up, back home at 11. Now, eating leftover Chinese and catching up on LJ--only 35 entries, a slow day!
Without public notice, a hearing, or debate in Congress, both houses passed the "RAVE Act" yesterday. This legislation makes it possible for the federal government to prosecute innocent business owners for the drug offenses of their customers. The new law holds a business owner responsible if anyone uses illegal drugs while on their property, whether they are aware of it or not, and even if the business owner takes action to try and prevent drug use!
