Oh yeah.. I keep forgetting that MNFTIU actually updates from time to time, specifically Get Your War On--pages 16 through 23 since last time I checked. I suppose I'll add it to my comics page as "Intermittent"--in addition to Scary Go Round, which I refound/mentioned recently and was quite pleased to read the archives. Added that one in its rightful place of "3rd, chronologically", in Bobbins's old location. :)

Dave, I think you'd like this series of strips, if you haven't seen 'em. ;)
(Note: This applies to at least two Daves reading this (C and S), possibly more (G?) :)

OMG this is awesome!

Meaningful:
A quote for the women, from Tolkien's Eowyn, courtesy of [livejournal.com profile] sylvie:
' All your words are but to say:you are a woman, and your part is in the house. But when the men have died in battle and honour, you have leave to be burned in the house, for the men will need it no more. But I am of the House of Earl and not a serving-woman. I can ride and wield blade, and I do not fear either pain or death.'
''What do you fear, lady?' he asked.
'A cage' she said. 'To stay behind bars, until use and old age accept them, and all chance of doing great deeds is gone beyond recall or desire.'

Very Humorous:
From [livejournal.com profile] atheist: Polytheist Creation Story, from a speech by Barry Mann at PanThea 2002.

From Amy's Away message:
so i'm taking these pills that make all my body fluids bright orange. i can't wear my contact lenses for a few days or else they will be dyed orange. pretty weird. blair seems to think this is cool, but i think it would be cool only if i had orange superpowers to go with it -- like shooting carrots out of my eye sockets or something of a similar nature.

From Marisa's AIM profile:
I'm currently angry at coronal stops, fricatives, and affricates, and I refuse to use them. Okay, so that should be: "I'm currenly angry a coronal op, fricaive, an affricae, an I refue o ue them. Okay, o tha oul be:"

Okay, never mind the crazy linguist.

(Never min the cray lingui).

Ludicrious:
From [livejournal.com profile] sebatical: Book on Nonpayment of Taxes Still Banned
LAS VEGAS (AP) - In a courtroom filled with vociferous tax opponents, a federal judge Friday extended a temporary ban on a book that argues Americans do not have to pay income taxes.
...
"A total ban on a book containing political and autobiographical (elements) is unconstitutional,'' ACLU lawyer Allen Lichtenstein said outside court.

The federal government argues that the First Amendment does not protect speech advocating illegal conduct.

From a week of cold/grey/rainy, and wearing a heavy jacket yesterday, it's all of a sudden 10 days of forecast highs in the 60s and 70s, lows in the 40s and 50s, and mostly sunny, here in Northern VA.

Yeek! This is not what it appears. See?

..no, that's not it. I mean, I did, but that was unrelated. Took my macaw out for a walk, ended up chatting with Tom & Melody Harrah for half an hour. Sometime in there mom came back from shopping*, and didn't see me around the corner, so was confused. (I'd left the house open, but I was neaby. :)

* She got a fully-enclosed, As Seen on TV, Ginsu Safe&Easy Bagel Slicer. One for our house, one for Steph's--as there's been one bagel-related knife injury in each house in the past couple months. :P I already explained mine; Steph's was even better--she managed to grab the knife the wrong way and cut her hand, before even attempting the bagel! Well, no more of that. No bagel-related deaths! :)

Also, I got my LiveJournal shirt in the mail!

And now, more leftover Chinese for lunch. :)

I have to say, this is one of the less accurate analyses I've seen. (Link from [livejournal.com profile] therave)

Somewhere in this thread is this gem:

[livejournal.com profile] flirtykatiegurl:
The intent of sex is to get pregnant...
The intent of driving is to get where you need to go...

As I commented to [livejournal.com profile] sebatical, as I can't comment in [livejournal.com profile] abortiondebate without joining:
I bet she's never heard the expression "life's a journey, not a destination".

Sex is fun, children merely a sometimes-desired side-effect.

Driving is half the fun of the trip!

Also, account #[livejournal.com profile] 1000000 has been created! (It's [livejournal.com profile] thebubba's! Shh!)
