Interviewing update

The Indifferent: Called RDR again, learned that there's at least one more person they want to interview for the position, who isn't available until late April. So, suck. Not a no, but at least several weeks from a decision.

The Good: Got a call from Stryker Corp, to whom I applied in early March, for various mechanical engineering/design positions, requesting a schedule for a phone interview. Huzzah for more positivity!

The Interview-unrelated: Happy birthday, Penny!

Yay CD burning!

After changing my CD burner to use DMA if available (instead of its former god-knows-why setting, "PIO Only"), I just burned a full audio CD from mp3s in four minutes, while listening to an mp3 and browsing the web. Formerly, my computer would have a) stumbled like a man with legs broken in several places, b) slowed down the whole machine akin to molasses, and c) taken 20-30 minutes despite being told "24x" (~2min burn time, ideally). I'll attribute the "2minute, 4minute" difference to "I don't care! So much faster/better!" and be done with it.
