7am: Wake up
8:10am: Wake up again, scramble to dress and get to work by five minutes previous, get there at 8:25, minor disapproval from manager.
Ray (specialty and stocker) had fed the fish, in case I didn't show up; I finished opening procedures well before we opened at 10.
-until 4pm: Worked. One of the parakeets got attacked by a Quaker parakeet and seriously injured, will probably have to be put down by the vet tomorrow. :( Started snowing here, lots. Roads got interesting.
4-7pm: Continued to work through close, taking over for JJ's 12-close shift as she called out in the morning. (Yeah, day of. She probably won't be working there too much longer, for that and other reasons.)
After work: Drove Christina home, got another Xmas present--a cell phone! One of those prepaid-minutes variety, which is great for me 'cause I wouldn't use it enough to merit a monthly plan--and joined them for dinner at Golden Corral. (Incidentally, GC's sweetened tea is horrendously sweet--puts the soda to shame. Was accidentally given to Christina's mom, who asked for unsweetened. Quite a shock there.)
After dinner: Came home, bird stopped squawking--had apparently been doing so for an hour. I don't really blame her--with the exception of a few minutes after 8am, I'd been out of her sight from about 1am to 9pm!
Currently: Catching up on lots of LJ, munching on leftovers of dinner--a tasty combo of artichoke hearts, hard-boiled egg, cheese, curry, and some sort of seed (caraway, maybe?) on pumpernickel bread. :)
