Blast from the past..

Within the past hour, a call came in and was picked up by the answering machine, from "Pyle, Robert" in the 813 area code. Mom picked up but they'd hung up, so she called back and left voice mail.

Minutes later, an SUV pulls up carrying Georgette and Tyler Pyle, and Georgette's sister-in-law! My mom babysat for Tyler until he was four and they moved to Centreville, VA and then to Florida; he's almost 14 now. They were in town because her dad is in the hospital, so they decided to drop by! Rather a nice surprise--we lost contact with them when they moved to Florida. :)

She hasn't changed a bit, including heading right for the bathroom upon entering the house--she used to drink multiple 7-11 Double Gulps daily; Tyler's gotten, well, a lot older; his older brother Robbie has finally completed a BS, after receiving brain damage resulting from a car accident many years ago; Bob (the dad) says I should send him my resume--he works for an electronics company down in Florida. :)

Today's itinerary

1430 -- head out to deposit paycheck and visit Christina.
1430-17 -- Hang out @ C's
17-21 -- Take C to eye appt. at mall, wait for her mom to arrive. Mom arrives, appt. happens. Got to dinner at Ruby Tuesday's, which is tasty. Buy a couple packs of Djarums (damn $10 minimum charge), the two salesmen were quite affable and entertaining. Hang out for another hour, take her home.

Tomorrow -- Deposit paycheck, work 3-close.

Yup.

One more app out..

Applied to Fru-Con, a large construction/engineering firm, after mom found an article about them recently in the Washington Post.
