As a followup to the Bullwer-Lytton Fiction Contest link I posted yesterday, Tucker offered the Lyttle Lytton Contest. Same idea--worst first line for an imaginary novel--but shorter, limited to 25 words. Year two added the "worst last line" category.

An example first line? "Jennifer stood there, quietly ovulating."

The LLC also explains just why the winners were chosen. :)

Work 11-7:30, company party @ Great American Steak & Buffet at 7:30.

Need to fix the lock on my bird's cage door, as jiggling the door pops the lock. Didn't take too much bird brainwork to figure that one out. :P

Worked 11-7:15 (close). Got to catch a parakeet and a cockatiel to sell. We were supposed to try to get all the animals fed by 6 (an hour before closing) to ensure that we got recovery (everything straight/presentable/proper location) done by 7. However, we got hammered with customers from about 4-6, so I took care of most of them while Jason fed/watered the animals, then I did most of recovery. At 7:15 we were done, Christina and a couple other employees showed up to get rides to Great American Steak & Buffet, and off we went.

GAS&B sucked, food-wise. None of it was particularly tasty, or hot, but the company was good. :) And they sang happy birthday, but not to me--to Tonya, and her birthday's in May. It was odd but amusing.

Left with Christina, Ray, Meghan, Kevin, and Kevin's gf around 9, and went to Hooters briefly, for no good reason I can think of--we all blame Kevin. Ray got a Coke. Then Kevin took his gf home (to Woodbridge by 10) and Christina and I left.. headed to SharpShooters (billiards) but as I'd guessed, 21+ to get in. So we hung out and chatted for a while, and I dropped her off at home around 10.

Tomorrow, work 7-3. Damn opening shifts. It's cool that I'm done midafternoon, but waking at 6 ain't so good. And I need to get rid of this headache I've had for about four hours now. :P
