Got Shauna's car inspected (passed), borrowed her "Darkwave car CD" (VNV Nation, Apop. Berkzerk, A23, Upbeat Depression, etc.) to copy. track listing ) And dad's missing. (He was here when I left, waiting for Yusef the Contractor to show up, and waiting for the rental company to drop a car off--he's going on a week-long business trip to Philly tomorrow, but they don't drop cars in Manassas on Sunday, apparently. But he wasn't here when I got back from the service station. :P)

Picked up Christina from work around 3, couldn't come up with anything particularly good to do as a late birthday celebration, so we went to Fair Oaks mall. Stopped by a variety of fun stores, then had dinner at Bennigan's. (Come to think of it, the leftovers are still in the truck.. they'll probably freeze if I leave 'em out there.) Left the mall, circled it a few times in search of the adjacent movie theater that seems to have vanished, and headed back to Manassas for the Hoyts by 66. Looking over the schedule of movies starting close-to-but-later-than-7:05, we chose The Ring. I have one word: "eh". I'll admit I jumped a few times (three), but overall didn't find it scary or even particularly disturbing. Some decent imagery, but the plot had more than a few points that bore more depth or explanation. Shauna's fairly scathing reviews follow in the next post. :)

(And I really really want to see LotR: TT, and wouldn't mind seeing Die Another Day and Extreme Ops. Also really want to see the 2nd Harry Potter, even though I didn't get a trailer for that one today. :)

And my parents weren't home when I got here.. not sure where they are, but I'd imagine they'll show up eventually. :) Update: Oh yeah, PEC holiday party. (They just got home, around midnight.)
