Incidentally, I'm disappointed that no one commented on my Away message while I was visiting Esther.

Drove out on snowy roads in 4WD, hung out with Christina for a while, drove her to Petsmart. While there, I a) retrieved the paperwork from the bird sale that I'd left there, and b) bought some yogurt treats that I actually forgot to buy yesterday--hence, couldn't find them here last night. Also bought banana chips, she likes both. :)

Came home, gave her treats for being so well-behaved, and called the woman at RDR (State Dept. contact), left another voicemail (at my mom's urging, I already left one last Friday). She called back a few minutes later, told me about the new positions available on the upcoming project, but none of them are suitable for a mechanical engineer. Licensed structural, yes; installation tech, yes; but nothing for me.

Incidentally, I did take a few more pictures of her and the cage today, but there's still half a roll of flim to be used.

And soon, my parents are taking me out to birthday dinner, at Logan's or Damon's. Got a hankering for steak or BBQ. :) (Several other people have IMed, emailed, or eCarded me birthday greetings today. :)

Went to dinner at Damon's [Sports Bar], got both steak and bbq ribs! Also got stood on a chair for their birthday callback-style song, which was entertaining. :)

From parents, in addition to things already purchased, I got a nice pair of warm, waterproof motorcycling gloves, with a squeegee on the left thumb for faceshield-wiping. Also got two graduation cards from Matt & Steph, as they lost them before graduation, so they became birthday cards instead. :) They also got me a Masters of the Universe tshirt, and Steph made me a fleece hat. (They lost one of Brendan's, jester style, and unable to find the vendor again, she decided to make him one.. and then ones for everyone else. :) Mine's a couple feet long, black with white snowflakes. :)

Came home, had a bit of each of two birthday cakes--one from Steph, one from mom--opened the bike cover which I already knew I was getting but mom decided to be silly and wrap, and replied to lots of LJ comments. :)

(Also, in the mail earlier, I got some really nice dark red socks, knitted by my grandmother, to the tune of about a week's labor. :)
