Not that I'm on a war movie kick..

..but as chance would have it, tonight's second movie was Platoon.
...damn.

(For a damn fine first-hand account of that particular hell, Ring of Steel was an amazing book. I can't find a link to it, but I'm pretty sure that was the title.)

Anyone notice that CNN.com's dropped the non-war-related Sections from the main page again?

It wryly amuses me..

..that I can discard dissenting opinions with impunity when I'm on the moral high ground.

Case in point, that girl who couldn't write the other day. I know I'm right, I have the support of several friends, and now (now! days later!) I get people sending me messages like "shut the hell up" and "arrogance will bring you down, everyone isn't with you". There's no excuse for writing like she did (apathy, laziness, and ignorance aren't acceptable excuses), and she even acknowledges this. Don't play opposition days later and expect me to care.

Personal update: And yet, I don't discard them, come morning. I replied to all the comments that came in overnight, days late, as well as a couple others I found new to the threads.
