well, dori showed up at 120 while i was doing my homework (due thurs. 5pm), then went home and came back with the 2 1-month-old white rats she bought today as pets.. they're adorable :) then she went home and said she'd be up till 10 or 11, so at 9:45 i decided i was finished with my HW for the time being and went over there.. read her comic book "I got married, if you can believe that" by Jim (part of a series of 4 books, also including "I went to college and it was okay" and "i got a job and it wasn't too bad") while she talked on the phone with her family (she named her rats davida and jonah, after her brother and sister--both female rats, tho) (her mom hates rats, too, threatened to decapitate them :P).. then we discovered one of the rats (we're not sure which, they look almost identical) had disappeared--so we spent half an hour ransacking her room (which isn't that large) looking for the rat.. till i finally discovered her under the sheet on the bed. fortunately, no one sat on her. but overall, i had quite a nice evening =) (oh, and we're probably going to the local Grassroots Festival Saturday)
now, to see if i can figure out the last problem on the HW, drive across campus to turn it in, and get some sleep..
tomorrow i get to a) sleep in, b) go to lecture (woo), and c) help dori set up her computer. is it tomorrow evening yet?

duality & convolution

evil EE topics. since I don't understand in the slightest how to use duality to solve the last problem on my homework, i'm turning it in anyway. yes, at 1:24am.

by contrast, you'd think a mathematical operation called "convolution" would be difficult. on the contrary, it's a lot easier. almost makes sense, even.

my EE prof has the most peculiar method of grading problems.. each problem gets an E(xcellent), S(atisfactory), U(nsatisfactory), or 0 [No attempt].. and then the final scoring is tallied at the top like E³S²USE². thus the E⁹ I saw someone get was very good, and the U0²U0U0U² I saw someone else getting consistently was ver' bad.
only 2 hrs left of work, then i go pick up becca and then get some gravel for dori's aquarium--she doesn't know i'm getting it, of course =)

fish & food

bought light&dark green gravel and a plastic plant for Dori's fish, which I'm sure she'll be pleasantly surprised to find =)

and, i'm really hungry. and dinner isn't for another half an hour.. hmm. must find food.

she's just in another world, sometimes :)
She went to her room, put her rats away in the cage right next to the aquarium, didn't even notice till she came back to her room later--and then noticed the plant before the dark green gravel. but she liked it! =)
Her housemate Alicia had some friends (josh & becky) in from out of town for a wedding they're going to tomorrow.. very cool people both. ordered some chinese; dori and i worked on making bracelets (i remembered how, though i learned it when i was in middle school) out of DMC floss, 'cept i was making a 5-strand and she was making a 9-strand--if anyone's ever made one like that (loop on each finger, threading one back and forth through the others one at a time), you know that 9 is insane.. she gave it up after eating dinner :)

anyway, she and I are going to the Grass Roots Festival in Trumansburg tomorrow, which should be a lot of fun--not that spending the day with Dori wouldn't be fun no matter what we were doing

The girl still confuses me a bit, though. i have no doubt she likes me a lot, but she has yet to ever, say, spontaneously take my hand or anything.. 'tis odd. but i'm thinking that'll change eventually :)

AD&D sucks.

Joe, Brian, Justin, Jenn, and Erin are all playing it at the moment leaving me no one whatsoever to hang out with. :P.
