    and every Muslim I know thinks it's a slap in the face to Muslims world wide. funny that.

    I'm not sure where I stand on the issue. On the one hand, it's banning a symbol that will single out particular people, be it for good or ill, like banning gang paraphernalia, or dress codes that either mandate a particular uniform or disallow things that "could be disruptive," or disallowing clothing that would assist concealment of identity--like the Florida driver's license case. On the other hand, it's banning something that's viewed by many to be a religious mandate.
