Today at work, there were more Ferrero Rochers (mmm) than I've probably seen in my entire life. RSO, FBI, OBO, and the tech team -each- got a tray of 42 from Cosmopolitan (one of the contractors)--and certainly other departments that I didn't see. Sooo tasty. :)
Nifty trivia from
reabhecc: Coolest thing of all: upon his death, J. Barrie bequeathed the property rights for Peter Pan to the Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital, London. So when people pay to make the movie, or whatever, that money goes to help sick children. Is that not nifty?

sebatical, proof that Britney is an idiot; or, oops, she'll probably do it again.
And now two Monday Missions, as this is the last one ever.
PromoGuy's Monday Mission 4.0
1. In the last week, what happened that made you feel loved beyond your wildest dreams?
[ from MM 1.0]
Beyond my wildest dreams? Nothing. Well within my regular dreams? Calls to and from home. :)
2. What was the last audio CD you paid money for?
[ from MM 1.3]
Ahh.. I'd be in a better position to answer that if I was on the same continent as my CDs. I remember buying some Counting Crows (Across a Wire), Mannheim Steamroller (25 years), and lots of Cornell a cappella, though.
3. Has someone you know ever told you they had a terminal illness? What was it like for you when you found out. How did that change your relationship with them?
[ from MM 2.45]
Don't think so, no. I'd probably make an effort to spend more time with them and/or get to know them better, though.
4. Do you have an accent? Are there any phrases or words you say that tip folks that you aren't from around these parts?
[ from MM 2.38]
I don't have much of a natural accent, as far as the mid-Atlantic US is concerned--the DC area has none in particular. However, I also tend to model my speech patterns after the people around me, so I'll pick up mild accents in Boston and Australia, for example, which makes people ask where I'm from rather than "are you from Virginia?" In college, New Yorkers would be surprised to learn that I was from Virginia, expecting a southern accent.
5. What's the difference between being a Father, and being a Daddy?
[ from MM 3.25]
Father is biological, to be a Daddy there has to be love. :)
6. What is the most recent thing guilt has motivated you to do?
[ from MM 2.50]
I don't feel a lot of guilt, really, as I try to live without many regrets.
7. How do you feel about tips and tipping? Do you feel obligated to tip even if your service is bad because you know the servers don't get paid much? If you've ever relied on tips for your income, how do you feel when you don't get any?
[This is a new one, had to throw in at least one more hot topic before I sign off]
If the service is -bad-? No. If it's acceptable, bare minimum, I'll probably leave a standard 15%. Better gets 20-25%, or more as events warrant. Very little tipping in Australian culture, though.
BONUS: Will you still love me for the rest of my life?
You're taking the Monday Mission away! How can I ever forgive?
And the Monday Mission 3.49, because I liked it and hadn't gotten around to replying:
PromoGuy's Monday Mission 3.49
1. Do you have any vacation time from work saved up for the Holidays? Or are you taking any time off or traveling this month? What are your plans?
Negative. I don't get any vacation time until I've been employed a year, which means August '04--at which point I get 80 hours. Until then, I only accrue a couple hours of sick time each pay period. As is, I spent Xmas away from friends and family, and worked on Dec25&26.
2. When do you do most of your blogging? During the day, at work, at home, at night?
Morning, evening, and night, plus lunch when I'm in the States and can go home for lunch. :)
3. What tends to keep you from blogging more? Or could it be that you blog too much and should do less?
Neither, I think Iblog LiveJournal just enough, except when people go post-crazy and it takes me an hour or two to catch up. :)
4. Do you like dressing up and/or "role playing?"
Dressing up for formal events or the like? Yes. Dressing up for RenFest? Yes. Halloween? Yes. Other than that? Not often, at least.
5. When choosing a mate, there are some things you can overlook (boob size, hairy backs, beer belly, bad teeth, hair lip, etc.) and some things you just can't (see previous list). What are some of thing things you can live with when picking your partner, and what are the things that are a "must have?"
I have very few "must haves" or "must not haves", but instead general preferences (petite, redhead, non-brown eyes, nice figure) that are quite adaptable if I happen to be interested in a girl with different attributes. I'm turned off by saggy necks, though. A nice smile is probably required. :)
6. My neck and back are in a constant state of tension. In fact, on the rare occasion that someone gives me a neck/back-rub, I am so tense that it hurts when they work out the kinks. I am just more used to being tense than not. I think I need help. Have you ever had a professional massage or ever been to a Chiropractor?
Professional massage, only while in massage class in college. Chiropractor, no, though several coworkers swear by them.
7. Inspired by the Amazing P3nis Patch.... Does size really matter? Yeah you know exactly what I mean too. Men, what have you been told and what do you know to be true? Girls, what is the real story and is that what you tell the guys? Have you ever been scared of one that was too big? For both: why do you think this debate is still going on?
It ain't the size of the wave, it's the motion of the ocean. ;)
Why's it still going on? Because there are inferiority complexes and delusions of grandeur, every guy has different size and skills, and every girl wants something a little different.
BONUS: Do they know it's Christmas time at all?
Well, the DC area certainly celebrates it a lot more visibly than the Canberra area..

In 1987, fifty years after Barrie's death, copyright expired under UK law. However, the following year a unique Act of Parliament restored royalty income from all versions of Peter Pan to the Hospital, which means that the very sick children there will continue to benefit from J.M. Barrie's generous gift for as long as the hospital exists."
