R.I.P., Bruno Kreidler

Update, 2/20/04: Due to Nathan's unfamiliarity with my ferrets, I learned (when she was taken to the vet) that it was Bruno who died, not Sylvie. Needless to say, this came as a surprise.

Thus, edited post:
In less upbeat news, one of my ferrets, Bruno, passed away sometime New Year's Day. This is pretty surprising, as he's always been the healthy, active, rambunctious one, no health problems to date, though he was on the old side for a ferret (about 5). I'm sure I'd be more upset if I were at home, instead of having Nathan deal with it 10,000 miles away, but it's still sad.. no more Bruno. :-\

In less upbeat news, one of my ferrets, Sylvie, passed away sometime New Year's Day. She's been sick off and on, and she's on the old side for a ferret--about 5--but she had a good life, and was always the soft friendly cuddly one. I'm sure I'd be more upset if I were at home, instead of having Nathan deal with it 10,000 miles away, but it's still sad.. no more Sylvie. :-\

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing.. he'll definitely need more playtime, and possibly another companion, though he's a lot older than any ferret I'd get in a store.

When I told my sister, it was the first thing she asked. :/

Do ferrets adjust to new ferrets easily or is it more likely he wouldn't get along with a new friend?

I think they usually adjust pretty well, given their short attention spans and interest in new things, but it would still be something to watch carefully.
