Semagic 1.3, work, agama
Aug. 18th, 2003 06:12 pmNew version of Semagic (1.3) released!
Happy birthday,
euphoric1dr!
Today at work, I helped poke at the misbehaving Fence Protection System again, before moving over to the standalone "Lookout" posts--nicknamed "Mexicans" for their sombrero-like covers :)--to help assemble half a dozen. (The Lookouts detect movement, and signal the control room with prerecorded, customizable voice messages sent in by the incorporated walkie-talkies. :) The three people continuing to work on the FPS eventually figured out the problem--the supply voltage was too high, due to the small size of the system. Since the connecting wires weren't very long, their resistance wasn't high enough to drop the supply voltage (17.5V) into the acceptable range (12-16V). They dropped in some suitable resistors, and lo, it worked perfectly. :)
After lunch, I attended a 3-hour training session on travel accounting, which was pretty involved and not terribly interesting. Of course, it'll come in very handy when I'm traveling and want to be advanced/reimbursed quickly, and already know the protocol. :)
The agama died.. not much I could do aside from emergency veterinary care, I think. :\ However, the other two lizards are doing just fine. :)
Off to Manassas shortly, to help dad fix my truck, if he's not finished already, and probably snag some food--both for me and the beardie, who'll be wanting his crickets. :)

Date: 2003-08-18 09:07 pm (UTC)definitely pay attn to the ins and outs of travel accounting, a friend didnt and then wondered why so many of her reimbursement requests were returned for 'dumb things'--as you said they'll probably be tended to more quickly if you follow their protocol

Date: 2003-10-05 01:21 pm (UTC)I'm still trying to sort out getting my mileage reimbursed from last week as I went from home to the Village of Kaser and then to work beacuse I *refused* to cross the bridge three times at rush hour just to go from work.
Wasn't worth it, even if it means I don't get reimbursed.
