After my last post, I quickly wrapped my mom's gift, filled out the card, and headed over to Manassas, encountering about half a mile of heavy rain--odd, that. Also, the slow traffic sped up as soon as the rain started--go figure. Greeted my grandmother, checked out mom's new computer (an Apple eMac from dad so she has a decent computer for internet access in the next room, since mine went away), a nice oak computer desk from Steph, the amusing pair of cards in which Shauna revealed her present (a pair of tickets to see Thoroughly Modern Millie at Wolf Trap), the assorted Brendan-printed items "from Brendan", and a handmade knitted sweater from her mom.. she also got a necklace from dad, which I didn't see. All in all, a set of stuff that pleased her greatly. :)

Interestingly, a) Steph suggested I get mom TMM tickets and suggested Kincade stuff as a backup plan to Shauna, and we ended up each getting the other thing, and b) the matting and frame on the print I got match the new-ish wallpaper in the family room/kitchen perfectly. :D (This is all the more impressive because I wasn't even thinking about the new colors on that wall. :) On a related note, mom now has all of her little Kincade cottages on an iron and glass shelf unit in my old room.

We then went out to dinner at the Bonefish Grill, which was remarkably tasty, as usual.. the service had one hitch where it took a whie to get our orders taken, but after that it was as smooth as could be. (I had Macadamia nut dusted snapper with pineapple rum glaze, which was damn tasty. :) Due to the time we left Manassas and the length of the wait and service, we didn't leave there until about 10.. I called Nathan around 10:30 to see if he still wanted to go to Cue, which was a negative, but I decided to go anyway, straight from Manassas. Not in my usual attire and with no lights, but that was ok. :)

Ran into Becky/Bob/Ted/Nick and Christine, though not Tucker; watched the foursome play pool several times, danced a few songs with borrowed Photon3s from Ted, observed some really sketchy Mexican guys--at least one of which was escorted out by the bouncer for refusing to leave girls on the floor alone, and the other who got close, and another with a MexiMullet (business in the front, fiesta in the back!) On screen behind the dance floor was Aliens, which I'd only seen once--in an Aliens marathon (all four, while Resurrection was still in the theater) with Nathan several years ago. :) I left around 0130, as I have work at the usual 0730, and figured at least four hours of sleep would be wise. :P

Well, damn. Must have just missed you-- my contact lenses were giving me trouble, so I headed out around 10:30.
