Talked to Melody on the phone from about 0430 until shortly after 06 :), went to sleep, got up around 1015, and need to write an informal letter of resignation--which they've known about for weeks--since early June, really, without a definite end date until a week and a half ago--so they have it on file.
Today's my last day at Petsmart! Tomorrow at 0830, I report for duty at RDR HR in Centreville (VA), fill out some more paperwork, and find out how training's going to go from there. :D
Note: In case you read my 0207 post around when it was posted, you should check it again, as it sprouted several links at the end. :)
Update, 1127: Letter of resignation written, already running a few minutes behind, now to dress, fly like the wind, and that will be that. :)
To the management:
As first advised on June 2nd or 3rd regarding June 30th, retracted June 24th or 25th, restated on June 30th, and officially written out today, today (August 10th) will be my last day working at Petsmart for the foreseeable future. I've enjoyed working here, I've learned a lot of interesting, useful information, helped a lot of people, and for all the complaints I may have had--occasional unreasonable workload, unpleasant customers, etc.--this has been one of the best jobs I've held. I'd like to thank Ross for giving me the opportunity back in November, when I was just a guy frequently visiting a friendly blue & gold macaw.
However, the time has come for me to move on to a job that better utilizes my education, offers more room for advancement--both during and following the new job--and pays the bills a bit more effectively. As such, I'll be working for RDR, a State Department contractor specializing in US Embassy security system installations, and becoming quite the world traveler. However, in my off time, I'll try to swing by the store and visit, bird in tow--though Shrvon will be closer now, if I recall correctly that he's moved on to Dale City.
There's no need to mail my next paycheck--which should include any remaining accrued vacation pay, I believe--I can pick it up, as my parents are still in Manassas and I'm not too far off.
Sincerely,
Scott Kreidler
