Lack of online time!
Dec. 28th, 2002 12:28 pm1:30am: Haven't been on LJ at all today, since I went to sleep about 22hrs ago (my post, 3am Friday). Started the day by waking at 7, getting up around 7:40, and being a few minutes late for work at 8. Discovered that JJ, trained in specialty as well as cashiering, sucks at opening specialty. She hadn't done anything with small animals, birds, or reptiles, no water tests yet, and was just starting to feed fish after being on for over an hour. I can pretty much complete all opening procedures in an hour, and I've only been working there a month. :P
Some excitement around lunchtime, when there was increasingly loud yelling and banging from the storage/loading area--sounded like a fight was breaking out, but I don't know if anyone else was actually involved. I quickly fetched Susan (Store Director, nearest management) to help, then left for lunch. Later learned it was Sean doing the yelling--apparently problems with redundant child support deductions between two jobs, problems arranging time off, child needing emergency care, overtired, and kinda snapped. Christina showed up during my lunch break to visit for a bit, which was cool. Oh, and I'm scheduled 7am-3pm on 1/1/03, which isn't cool even if it does pay time and a half. Might try to swap with someone, especially if I find good New Year's plans.
Got off after 4, home, did stuff I've forgotten.
Shauna got back from seeing HP2 with Steph & Matt around 6, and we immediately went over to Phill's. Had dinner with Phill, Ross, and their parents, as prepared by Phill--quite tasty; the main dish was chicken wrapped around ham, breaded with crushed pork rinds instead of bread crumbs. Had a Straub's beer (no preservatives!)--light but tasty, then a Yuengling, and a small glass each of Chardonnay and White Zin. After dinner, had coffee in a mug that played a short set of Christmas carols every time it was picked up (or rather, sensed light).
Then the parents went to bed, and the four of us sat around chatting about various and sundry, most notably relationships and sex. 'twas interesting, to say the least. :)
Would've considered crashing at their place for the night, but Shauna has to be at work in Alexandria at 9am. Drove home, hopped online to fetch email and my latest LJ friends entries (all ~70 of them), offline to let Shauna on, composed this post, and waited for Shauna to sign off.
2:15am: While online, I popped new windows for /friends/?skip=30 and /friends/?skip=60; while offline I read through those and popped a new window for each comments page or link I wanted to see. (Then I took my macaw out for a while. :) I now have 20 "Cannot find server" windows, each of which I'll refresh once back online. However, as I'm quite tired and don't want to wait longer for Shauna, I'll sleep now and post this in the morning. :)
12:30pm: Awake, showered, laundry started, this posted. :)
