First day at work, it was long. But fun.
Nov. 20th, 2002 11:22 pmWent in around 2pm, filled out some more paperwork--taxes and direct deposit and stuff--and read the Asociate Handbook, then watched a couple videos on proper handling of customers on the sales floor and at the cash register, with role plays and a ridiculously cheerful narrator. :)
Then, on to the Services and Solutions Workbook, which is a whole lot of busy work that effectively accomplishes the task of teaching the locations of most of the stuff in the store--especially top sellers--and uses for a lot of it, why and how people might ask for particular items, how to help them, frequently asked questions, etc etc. Finished that up around 9:30pm, with a dinner break in there somewhere around 6, hung out with some other employees while some shelf-straightening was going on, and went home around 10:30. (So basically, that workbook took me easily five hours to complete, and tomorrow I get tested on some of the contents. Whee!)
Skimming LJ and going to sleep early, 'cause a) it's been a long day and b) I'm in tomorrow at 9am.
