To the best of my recollection (which will keep things short):

I was in London, traveling around by bus. I met a girl, she asked where I was headed, I showed her a scrap of paper with an address messily written on it--which I could read, odd for a dream. She took me into a theatre building. There were performances in various rooms throughout the building; traversing them meant using various stairways and steeply sloped passageways--textured like a shingled roof. I was barefoot, which slowed me down more than my shoe-wearing companion. In one room, a group I later realized to be Rockapella (after waking up and returning to my computer) heard was singing People Change; we passed through that room and a few others by means of climbing over empty chairs.

We were accosted by some employees demanding a ticket fee--$15, reasonable for such a set of performances, though an odd denomination in London--but we escaped by ducking under a railing and running out the door. My companion told me that to escape we'd have to take the Well--apparently a subway--so we headed off that way. And that, I believe, is that.

you've heard that song before you dreamt it, right? otherwise, that would be way too trippy...

That'd be right into "clairvoyant" if I hadn't. :)
As it is, I was listening to a lot of a cappella last night. :)

Remarkable clarity for a dream.. it wasn't lucid or anything, but I distinctly recall accurate music/lyrics for that song, and I remember being able to read my sloppy note--from what I've heard, in lucid dreams at least, one of the ways you can tell it isn't reality is that most/all text is garbled.

I'm often able to read things in my dreams, and I often make up songs in my dreams.

I still remember some parts of a dream I had some 10+ years ago.. which I remembered from one end to the other, so I got a piece of paper and wrote down about 30 consecutive segments that comprised it. Probably why I remember some of it now. :)

I don't generally try to read much into my dreams, though I can pick certain parts out to attach to real stimuli.. no song-fabrication there, though, that I remember.

The songs I make up in my dreams are always so brilliant that I wake up with them stuck in my head.

Too bad they totally suck once I'm awake!

And then you have a crappy song in your head! Rock on!

Yeah, I thought about that as I was writing the comment.. in Waking Life, which I really wouldn't recommend to anyone unless they really like 1.5-hr long arguably-pretentious philosophical rants, they explained that in dreams, you can't often read small print--digital clocks, newspapers, etc.

ooh, i've read a digital clock! though definitely not a newspaper...well, maybe just the headlines...but they always seem bigger than usual...cartoonesque...

I had a scary dream just before I woke up this morning!

I was living with three other girls in a house in CA that belonged to a very unattractive, reclusive man. We weren't allowed to leave, and we weren't allowed to enter his room on our own under any circumstances. He had a hall closet that was filled with women's shoes of all sizes. For instance, there would be five pairs of the same red satin high heel, all in different sizes. We learned that he was picking up women, taking them home, dressing them up, having sex with them, and then killing them.

We made a plan to escape. One morning while the man was sleeping, we threw some of our belongings and some food in my car and sneaked out. On my way out to the car, I passed a semi-nude blonde girl carrying a glass of water back to the man's bedroom. I wanted to warn her that he was going to kill her, but I was afraid she would say something that would alert him to the fact we were onto him, and then he could try to stop us from escaping.

We made it out to the highway, and then I woke up. I was so disturbed by the dream that I decided to go back to sleep and not get up until I had a pleasant dream.

Woo, that's exciting, in a bad sort of way.

Regardless, I like I when I remember dreams enough to write them down later in the day--I don't keep a dream journal or anything, so it's impressive if I remember it later. For the few times I've done so while an LJ user, I made entries and marked them as Memories under the "Dream" heading, if you wanted to see some others I've recorded. :)
