9pm: Went over to Nathan's place last night around 7, with the eventual intent to go to a bar he and some of his co-worked frequent in DC. While I was headed over (and took a wrong turn once again--maybe I'll get it perfect the third time), he ordered Chinese, and when I got there I watched him play some 007, the food arrived, and we watched National Lampoon's Van Wilder.. really funny, pretty good story/message, and amazing numbers of hot college women. Then we headed out to the Metro into DC; got out at Farragut West and walked a few blocks to the Mad Hatter. It was really crowded, half the music was crappy, and the beers were expensive ($5 for a 12oz mini-pint), but there were more than a few attractive women, and several of his co-worked showed up. Left around 12:45 to make sure we had a train back out; and went back to his place, where he played a bit of The Thing--didn't like it, couldn't get by one beginning part--and we watched The New Guy

Featured in the cast, mostly in minor but entertaining roles, are:
Lyle Lovett (father)
Tony Hawk (himself)
Gene Simmons (reverend)
Tommy Lee (himself)
Henry Rollins (warden)
Vanilla Ice (music store employee)
&
David Hasselhoff (himself).

We then stayed up until about 6am, talking about just about every significant girl--dated, desired, or similar--in our respective high-school and college lives.. 'twas interesting.

Woke up around 11, called home to tell them I wasn't dead, and then watched Nathan play some more GTA3. We then watched American Pie 2, which was pretty funny, about as good as the first. After that, we ordered pizza, played a little bit of 2-player 007, and watched Dogma (the only one of the four movies that I had seen before.) By this point I'd been at his place for 24 hours, and figured it was about time to go home, so I did. :)

Update, 10:30pm: My dad is finally off the computer!

Okay, so you've seen 2 movies I've been contemplating watching for no good reason other than perhaps a laugh. Would you provide a few more sentences on Van Wilder and The New Guy so I can convince myself to pick them up for viewing?

Well, they're both quite amusing. VW is the higher quality movie of the two as far as plot development and resolution is concerned; TNG goes from stable, to low, to higher and higher and higher with one small dip and no major crash--as one has come to expect from storie sin general. They're both worth a rental, in my opinion.
