Except instead of noted filmmaker Kevin Smith, this time it was noted publisher and free-speech activist, Larry Flynt!

Show started with his lawyer (for the last 26 years or so) telling stories about Flynt (including how often he was arrested standing up for his cause and/or selling his magazine, Hustler).. as a permanent proponent and tester of free speech. Then Flynt himself came on (in a wheelchair, since he was shot while under prosecution on Georgia once, which paralyzed his legs).. talked about the 2000 election, the WTC attack, Clinton's impeachment accusation proceedings (as well as the others that Flynt himself instigated via a WashPost ad, if you remember that), and smut! (pornography vs. obscenity and the like).
He's basically an advocate of free speech for all, no matter what. He suggests you think of the person who proposes the most hateful ideas you can think of, ones that make you sick--and -that's- the speech he's trying to protect. In related issues, he wants to keep the government out of your bedroom, and for them to stop trying to legislate morality.
On the whole, I truly admire this man.. he stands up for what he believes in, without ever faltering, and I agree with his free speech ideals (even if he is incredibly outspoken on some of his principles :).

Then Katia and I went down to Chapter House, chatted with a bouncer, had a few beers each (Middle Ages makes some good beers :), I played a couple rounds of pool (one against a random team of players, once against one guy--won the first, lost the second), had our table stolen when we left it (with our stuff on it!) for a while, and generally had a great evening. =)

G'night!

That would've been easy enough to rectify.. $4 each, and there were tickets left at the door..

Never hurts to try.. and picking up tickets in advance doesn't hurt, either. ;)
