I had lab today, starting at 1:25pm.
As I was about to leave to bike to lab at 1:18, it started pouring rain, and then pea-size-hailing. I donned waterproof pants/jacket, and biked through this downpour.
At 1:25, it stopped entirely and the sun came out, and at 1:26 I arrived at lab.
The weather was, apparently, out to get me.

I have waterproof boots, rain pants, and a rain jacket and two things happen accordingly:

Either (1) I have all of the above and the weather is fine. (often, worse, it's too hot for any of em!) or (2) I have none of the above and the heavens completely open up.

I think those rain pants have seen scarcely a drop...

Well, naturally.

I also use this rain gear as an outer shell for snowboarding/skiing.. they don't necessarily keep snow out at the wrists/waist/ankles if I fall, though.

It sure beats the heck out of a poncho tho. Some folks go that route for lightweight, but it's a heck of a tradeoff.

Right, understood. How elaborate is your gear?

For biking in the rain? Not more than rain pants and a rain jacket. Rain jacket with hood sometimes. Gloves (hopefully water-resistant/-proof) if it's cold.
