Make with the funny!

jaffo's recent humourous posts:
Thanks for doing that, for posting those links. Dammit, in the past week, the American press has taken away our permission to LAUGH. I had seen all but one of those...but even so, I laughed anyway. Know what, people? Not everything in the world is sad just because of a large tragic event. That's one thing. One! People right now need to laugh, they're becoming emotionally unhealthy because they feel like being lighthearted in "these times of sadness" is disrespectful.
I've never bought into being sad about things like this for any length of time. You see, it's counterproductive. This is why, when I die, my funeral music will be stuff by Weird Al. "Sing no sad songs for me," because you know what? BEING SAD DOESN'T HELP. Mourn if you need to mourn, everyone, but then please...get back to your life when you can. The problem is, most of the funny content everywhere - the web, TV, radio - has been stopped and is just starting to come back.
There's an old saying that comedians don't tell jokes to make people laugh, they do it to let them laugh. We need more of that. Thanks for letting us laugh, Jaffo.
I agree 100%.
