Tonight's movie, alluded to the other night..

..the one that led to to the DVD care rant, and subsequent retreat to file downloads--it took me something like 16 hours to download the damn thing, is no one but me on a fast connection?--was Pi. Quite well done cinematically, mentions some really nifty things that I had already heard (things in nature that are described by such things as the Golden Ratio and the Fibonacci Sequence), and generally goes to show that numbers can be used to show anything.

This time I am gonna big to differ. I did spell Chassidic right, only because it is transliteration from Hebrew, and well there is no real way to spell it in English... An H would normally have a dot under it, if written in translit, as it starts with a chet in Hebrew and makes one of those flemmy 'ch' sounds... and well, since I've grown up in the conservative movement of Judaism ast a synagogue that doesn't use that h-dot thing, but ch, it makes words like Hanukah be like Chanukah...

Of course, English spelling also allows for Hasidic and Hassidic in addition to the msot proper Chassidic.. I'll just continue using Hasidic, and say that my previous statement was just stating my own usage ;)
