I got a ride to the parts store with Amelia (whose cat I'm supposed to take care of soon) and bought a tester that can test ingition firing.. concluded that my ignition system is working fine, so moved on to fuel supply. It doesn't sound like the pump is working from the description in the troubleshooting guide, so I spent half an hour searching for its fuse to no avail. (Chapter 4, Fuel system, says to see Chapter 12, Electrical Systems, which has no reference whatsoever to that fuse, except maybe in the electrical diagrams.) Will continue tomorrow, in daylight, after searching those diagrams. Grr.
