The day got off to a good start when JR delayed the service call, already scheduled at 10, to 11. Now, the day was not without its problems--missing components requiring a lot of shuffling of hardware between cabinets and ordering of more, a jammed adjuster leg that may necessitate replacement of the entire cabinet*, flaky robotics, and an impatient customer or two--but overall, not too shabby. Out around 1615, crappy traffic for only part of the trip home, stopped by Petsmart and Giant, and now have milk to make some food and dessert mixes, not to mention breakfast cereal. :)
* The cabinet would be returned to the factory and the leg replaced, so it's not like it's a loss except for shipping charges, which are admittedly hefty--but it's still a not-insignificant delay.
Oh yeah! While discussing a potential
acquisition via IM with Matt this morning, he suggested I call the Seattle store--check out
kitiara's
photos!--to see if they had any of my selection in stock, rather than wait the standard 6-8 weeks for one to be made to spec. After learning that they don't open until 09PT, I called (hands-free) while in stop-and-go traffic on 395, had a very entertaining phone call, learned that they did in deed have my selection in stock, ordered, and it'll ship tomorrow! :D
