Loudoun sport ride! (Saturday, most of the day)

Got up at 0730, left the house around 0810, got to Leesburg around 0910, met up with the other riders for the day--an assortment of sport bikers and cruisers. Our route took us through various backwoods of VA and WV, all kinds of fun roads, assorted stops for rest/food/gas, ending in Berkeley Springs, WV around 1430. Headed back toward Leesburg around 1500, stopping a couple more times. Had an awesome time, met a lot of great riders. Got to Sterling around 1900ish, called to find the family at TGI Fridays, and rode down to meet them there. Had tasty food, ran into Chris (former Petsmart coworker), came back to the parents' house for a while, watched some news, and headed home around 2330.

I'll map out my day at some point, but not right now. Another ride in the morning! (And LJ/comic catchup to do!)

Lorton (home) to Leesburg (meeting point): ~45mi
Leesburg to Berkeley Springs, WV (furthest point): ~140mi
Berkeley Springs to Purcellville (near Leesburg): ~90mi
(And then Purcellville to Manassas, Manassas to Lorton: ~45mi)
Total for the day: ~320mi
(And 40-44mpg. :)

No group ride today

Well, after getting to bed after 02, I thought my chances of wanting to get up at 07 to go ride were slim; this was confirmed when I woke up at 07, then 0730, and was finding sleep more important than another day-long ride. Around 09, I thought about heading to the 1100 meetup in Knoxville, MD, but instead went back to sleep and got up around 11 or 12. Oh well--yesterday's ride was great. :D

Update, 1330: Perhaps just as well, since the weather's starting to lean toward rain for the afternoon.
