I'm impressed by the VA Employment Commission, honestly.

6/3: Laid off, I procrastinate.
6/20ish: I file initial claim online.
6/25: Unemployment rights/responsibilities packet, and PIN info, processed/mailed.
7/2, 7/9, 7/16: I get email reminders to file my weekly Continuing Claim; I continue to procrastinate.
At Some Point: Got a call from a VEC rep, making sure I'd gotten my PIN, and suggesting I file ASAP.
7/20: Filed online for 6/26, 7/3, 7/10, and 7/17.
7/22: Received a check for first three claims, minus taxes I agreed to have withheld.

These guys are really on the ball if you are!

Also received bill for Fairfax County personal property tax for the Ducati, which isn't as fun, but that's okay.

Called Mickey @ ADIC to confirm fax receipt. She did receive it, and has in fact already passed it on to another relevant guy regarding interview scheduling. :)

Fixed the back gate--it now opens and closes smoothly in addition to having functional latches (a fix I effected some time ago)--and mowed the front lawn. Next, off to the bank and post office! :)

It seems that, since last I time I used it, TicketMaster has increased their level of Suck by several notches.

  • Ticket prices? Reasonable.
  • Service charge? Annoying to begin with, now just about doubled to $8.35.
  • Order Processing Charge? WTF is that? Another $4 on top of the "convenience," apparently.
  • Oh, and if I want my ticket automatically emailed to me by a machine, that's another $3.50, vs. a person having to actually print, handle, and hold a paper ticket for free.

Regardless, I'm going to see Evanescence, Seether, and Three Days Grace at Merriweather Saturday night with Christine and Erika. :D
