Pity party over a wrecked Mustang Cobra, changes for the worse with Fast Eddie's )

When I walked in the door around 2130, Christine had just called to talk to me, so I took over the call; she was walking to the Metro after a movie night at Faye's. She then hung up to take the Metro, and called me back as she left her local station. After being inside for a while, she hung up to get ready for bed, then called me again (from the house phone.) Finally, she requested that I call her back on her cell, and we chatted until a bit after 2300. Four calls! Crazy! ;)

Tomorrow night, plans were for Kate and I to shanghai Christine into going to Alchemy, but Kate now doesn't feel like dancing and may not feel like going out at all, so Alchemy's no longer in the plans.

Still no confirmation on the fax I sent yesterday, so I'll call tomorrow to find out what's up. I know they're busy, but c'mon.

And I leave you with a powerful piece of poetry from [livejournal.com profile] preciouslaura:

Invictus
by William Ernest Henley

OUT of the night that covers me,
Black as the Pit from pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
For my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bludgeonings of chance
My head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of wrath and tears
Looms but the Horror of the shade,
And yet the menace of the years
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid.

It matters not how strait the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll,
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.
