Drove to Manassas around 1815 to fetch my macaw, got there around 1900 due to traffic, and left around 1945, proceeding to Petsmart to visit. Ran into Ross, two groomers, and Shrvon (now Woodbridge manager), with an increasingly tired bird. The baby macaw there--about 2 months--was fascinated by her, but she had little return interest. Left there around 2045, called Christina's house--figured she'd want a visit from the macaw, and I'd get to see their menagerie--to no answer, so I went to my parents' house for a little while, and my dad took a couple pictures on his spiffy digital. While there, I got a call from Christina, learning that she and her mother had been out at a relative's house, so off I went. There was then a lengthy bird-meeting session--their Amazon, two newish conures, and my macaw out of cages, and a slew of budgies in cages. I got a few good pictures taken there, hung out for a while, eventually took my leave to return to Lorton around 2230 or 2300. Got home, assembled her cage, gave her food and water, and let her play in/on the cage while I scrounged for food. I realized that Nathan had, since I went shopping 48 hours previous, drunk a gallon of milk and eaten half a pound of turkey and 11 slices of cheddar cheese--most of that this afternoon. Crazy, man. Had lunch at 0030 or so, as it was the fastest food I could make. :)

Soon, I'll upload the new photos, but not tonight--tired!

Work featured a 2.5-hour training session on expense reports, most of which I knew already from my previous 3 months of reporting. Oooh.

After work, I found slips in the mail telling me two packages had arrived for me--from Australia, I correctly guessed. Passed Nathan driving in on my way out to fetch them--at 1637, PO closes at 1700. Got the packages, returned home to find neither Nathan nor dogs. 15 minutes later, guessed that he'd taken them to the dog park. I then left to take the ferret supplies to storage, and returned to find him and the dogs.

I then cleaned the kitchen, because Nathan pretty much never does, so it had three months of dust on the counters, dust and fur on the floor, and food splatters on the stove and in the microwave--he pretty much never uses plates under the Hot Pockets he microwaves, nor covers food. (Food in the fridge is likewise rarely covered.) Next up, carting his laundry--piled in the living room--up to dump in his room, and vacuuming the living room and stairs, because otherwise it just won't get done before Esther visits tomorrow. Le sigh. It's not that he -never- cleans, see, it's just that his threshold of mess before cleaning is very high.

Finished cleaning: Kitchen, front hall, living room (such as I can do--most of the carpet in this house needs to be steam-cleaned, particularly that room), stairs, upstairs hall, my room, office (clean, but not straight), both bathrooms. Nathan's mountain of clothes and two garbage bags of books--not a good way to transport hardback books, btw--deposited unceremoniously on his bedroom floor.

Somewhere in the midst of cleaning, I made penne w/sausage & marinara sauce from a box of cans/packets, and watched CSI, accompanied by my bird. :)

Tonight: Not going to Nation, since Becky didn't call. 's'all right, I needed the time to clean, and I know she's not feeling well. We'd better get to see each other soon, though. :D
Friday night: Esther visit! Pirates!
Saturday evening: Hidalgo with Christina.
Sunday: Birthday dinner for Shauna w/family
Monday evening: Dinner with Kat and her sister Jess

Update, 00:47:: Photos of Puck, Lucy, and some of Christina's pets--an Amazon, two conures, and three snakes. :)

Watched an episode of Tripping the Rift on SciFi with Nathan--good stuff. :D
