So Liz called out of Tilley's because she was already at the Civic Pub, but the rest of us (Jillian, Oscar, Ross, Ross's friend Rachel, another friend of theirs, and later Brooke) had a good time and some tasty food--I had a slice of rhubarb&pear crumble and a glass of late harvest wine.

Went to Insomnia, which was very slow at midnight--maybe a dozen people. icbm was packed, but it sucks; O'Malley's was too crowded but had a live band. Ended up at Insomnia anyway, then called Liz--who'd decided to not come out, but her phone has no credit (and little charge) so she couldn't call/message. After her phone cut out I sent her a message, and called back a bit later--she said she'd get there when she could, but never did. Bah. :P

Walked Bella back to her dorm--a good ways off, I discovered--then returned to Insomnia, where Jillian got off of work shortly thereafter. Back at the hotel, we helped a friend of a guest retrieve her car from the basement car park--not possible without a security key--and shortly I'll be off to bed, before work at 9am.

I'm quite tired today. Probably has something to do with too little sleep last night. :) (I did get a voicemail from Liz, apologizing for her no-show, and for the lack of phone credit preventing her from updating me.)

Of course, there has to be some opposition, debate, ranting, and flaming, so via [livejournal.com profile] chicken_hunter, we have [livejournal.com profile] prester_scott's post and following discussions here. My main problem with his position occurs in the sixth paragraph, which can be summed up as "As it was, so it shall be." I acknowledge that things need not change simply because they never have--but sometimes they do.
