Latebra was well-populated again, usual crowd. Walked to Woolworth's with Jillian and Kit so they could do some grocery-shopping, stopping along the way for a pint--in part to allow Oscar some extra sleep time, since he was worn out from the previous week of work. While shopping, I picked up a 4L cookpot so I can more easily cook pasta, plus a few candy bars I either can't get in the US or hadn't had--Crunchie (honeycomb and chocolate), white chocolate Kit Kat, and a third I've forgotten (and can't check because I accidentally left them at the house.)
Had a very tasty Chinese dinner--rice, ginger chicken, steamed pork dumplings, and bamboo and mushrooms. After dinner we watched Down With Love, a hilarious romantic comedy with Renée Zellweger, Ewan McGregor, and David Hyde Pierce, set in 1963.
After that, ice cream was had and some card games were played--Spoons, Cheat (a variant on BS), and Spit, with Oscar's set of Spanish playing cards. And then, on the one night all week that Oscar can stay up late (instead of being woken intermittently by all the people in the house)--his other housemates go to bed shortly after 1. So, he and I go to Insomnia, which pleased Jillian greatly. :) The music was better than usual--the DJ was Rob B (the Other House DJ), instead of the regular guy, Rob M--a largely trance/industrial set, with the usual set of dance/techno/electronica mixed in.
