One of my friends made a (locked) post about a friend who didn't believe people can really change; her opinion was more along the lines of George Eliot's "It is never too late to be who you might have been," and that change will not come in yourself without effort. I agree with her.

So, when you fly you're gonna be color-coded and given a numerical value as to your risk-probability. Lovely. I hereby volunteer to be color coded... they can give me a nice yellow Star Of David to pin to my jacket.

kelwyn found out about it after reading a great sci-fi story on an eerily similar topic.
futuregirl: The newest Republican argument for restricting political and social freedoms under PATRIOT II, which is being passed piecemeal, is this (sometimes paraphrased): "You say that freedoms have been curtailed since 9/11. But can you name a single time when your freedoms, personally, have been infringed upon? Obviously, it's not really a problem, is it?"
When a Republican says this, it's usually followed by a smug smile.

The weather here was interesting today.. at any given time, about 1/3 of the sky was blue and sunny, the rest dark and cloudy, with spatters of rain now and then.
On the way home, I saw no kangaroos (alas!) and got some groceries. Just now, I had a dinner of cereal and milk. Last night, I had a ham/egg/cheese/toast sandwich around 10 or 11. My meals seem to be displaced. :)
Soon, I shall get a haircut, since I found a place close to the hotel with good hours and prices--and hopefully, good hairdressers. :) Later I'm seeing RotK with Jillian and Oscar! Huzzah!
