I have to agree with [livejournal.com profile] gingerdc9, the silver '03 Suzuki SV650 (or 1000, looks about the same) is a pretty, pretty bike. I want! However, as a) I'm leaving the country in a couple weeks, and b) I'll have a lot more disposable income when I return several months later, I'll consider a purchase then. :D

Back to work!

[livejournal.com profile] news: New LJ scam to be aware of, featuring "cheap paid accounts," stolen credit cards, and account theft.

Warm and very rainy for the last 24hrs or so. Need a haircut. Looking into laptops, Matt sent me this general review from MSN-CNet which seems handy, though limited in scope to the best-battery-life models.

I already got my copy of In a Sunburned Country, suggested by [livejournal.com profile] macguyver and ordered Monday evening!

Rumor has it at work that the departure date -may- be delayed, as the man that the team leader was going to head out with next week isn't going, so the team leader's departure may be delayed to coincide with ours, which may in turn be delayed.. but it'll probably still be before Thanksgiving. If it's even delayed, that is.

Also, I have a bird walking around on my shoulders, trying to eat my collar. :P

Shortly before I moved into this townhouse in early July, my mom bought me a pack of matching sheets, comforter*, and curtains. Shortly after I moved in, I collected some curtain-hanging hardware. However, I discovered that I needed a drill before I could sink the screws into the wall; Nathan had a drill, but it was in a toolbox in a cabinet behind a stack of weights.

* duvet, for you Brits ;)

A week or two ago, I moved the weights out of the way; today, I extracted the drill and bits, and actually hung the curtains, a mere three months after I moved in. :D

On a related note, I am rather enamored of the Black & Decker Firestorm cordless drill/sander/saw and its elegant interchangeable design. :)

In other belated-action news, I'm currently listening to the second of the three Emmet Swimming CDs I picked up at Clarendon Day, 2.5 weeks ago. :)
