There's extended mixes, and then there's overextended mixes. On Zoltar's Basement / Subterranean on HFS on the way home, they played a remix of Madonna's Die Another Day theme, which was probably 12 minutes long, didn't get to lyrics--which seemed familiar--until at least 6 minutes in, and I didn't recognize until 8. The instrumental/mixed portion wasn't even very interesting.
Decided to get a haircut before work today, as I wasn't sure if I'd be able to after work Sunday, to look non-shaggy for my first day at RDR Monday. I called the closest hair salon to here, learned their base price was $17, and headed for Manassas instead. I stopped by MasterCuts in the mall first, as they're my usual (and $11), but found several people ahead of me and less than half an hour until work. So, I decided to try the brand-new barber shop in the same center I work in instead. The barber (an Asian guy, one of several Asians manning the place at the time) asked for verification on my request of a #3 buzz on the back and sides, as my hair had gotten much longer than that. Apparently his #3 is a bit closer than MasterCuts', but not overly so. However, the whole back of my head is now pleasantly soft and fuzzy. :)
Work was pretty consistently busy, and most of the day I just wanted it to end. It wasn't -bad-, per se, I would've just preferred to not be working. Helped at least three people through a complete aquarium setup, which is always interesting, and had a former manager (now store director elsewhere, ooOOooh) come in to ge a small aquarium and fish for his young daughter. He ought to know better (new aquarium should have a few-day waiting period before adding fish, so to evade that he got three gallons of our system's water instead. :P) At any rate, due to the level of business, Christina and I didn't even start feeding animals until 9, and clocked out right as the lights were shutting off at 11. Remember how I mentioned that $200 in fish sales was an average day and $250 was heavy? We learned that the department sold $500 of fish today--that has to be a record.
Once outside (with Christina, Shrvon, and Michelle) I learned that today is Shrvon's last day, as he's transferring to the Dale City store to be store director (I think), and Michelle's leaving soon (transterring to a PA store to be with her boyfriend).. lot of turnover recently and soon, especially in Specialty. (Saturday was Susan's last day, Sunday is mine, Willie will be headed back to school soon.. so they're quickly hiring and training new guys, and Kevin (formerly Specialty, now cashier) was helping in Specialty. Unrelated, there was another remarkable lightning display in the skies, though this time almost all cloud-to-cloud.
Chatted with Christina for a while in the parking lot, before deciding to adjourn to Mike's Diner to chat more and grab some food. Had plenty of coffee, some breakfast food, noted the arrival of a foursome of Aerosmith&Kiss-concert attendees with faces in full Kiss makeup.. 'twas interesting. Bailed from there around 1:20 and made my way home.
:D! Error 404: Yes, those lying, imperialistic dogs have lied to you again.

This guy does remarkable touchup work with Photoshop. Some of it is a little scary. Some of it is downright terrifying. Most of it isn't scary woman-changes like those. :) (from

And finally, from the Conversatron, Strip clubs and Star Wars. :D
