Will Smith on Leno last night was hilarious. :)

Worked 7-3, which kind of sucked following a 3-close shift the previous night, and my co-opener was an hour late due to traffic, but other than that it was all right. Got a paycheck, at least. :)

Around 6ish, talked with family and arranged to return to Manassas for dinner at Pho Gourmet, an excellent little Vietnamese place near my parents' house. Following some very pleasant distractions, Melody and I left Lorton around 8, met parents/sisters/Matt/Brendan at Pho and it was good.

At home, I decided to pack up all my board games and bring them to Lorton, whereupon I realized I have a lot of board games, many of which I'd entirely forgotten about, and just about none of which have been played by anyone in the house in many years. I'll list them later, but suffice to say it's two garbage bags full of boxes of games, dating from 1980 to late '90s. (There were a few I decided to give up to kids/charity, but most I want to keep. :)

Tomorrow, meet Melody's friend Adina at Wolf Trap (where she works) and then Metro into DC for the day, probably followed by food shopping so we can cook dinner Sunday. :)

Called AOL, cancelled the account that I created so Shauna and I could be online from home simultaneously. The tech was very cheerful and chatty and very, very polite. Of course, she did mention that I could still use AOL through broadband with their Bring-Your-Own-Access $9.95/mo plan, and she started to set me up for that, but I firmly and politely indicated that I really wanted to cancel today. The account served its purpose, and I'm on cable modem now, which is much nicer, and have no further need for my second account--never used it for anything but access.

Soon, I'll actually get my lazy ass dressed and out the door, so Melody and I can go play in DC for a few hours--the Zoo or Smithsonian(s), most likely, and see if we can find an IHOP in this area. :)

Happy 22nd birthday yesterday, Joanna! :)

Time to build desk and clear space for it: About four hours
Time to assemble lamp: About four minutes
Time to assemble chair: About eight minutes
Sitting at a proper desk setup to use my computer: Priceless

It's quite a nice desk, though; a place for all parts of the computer, and assorted storage places built-in. I like it. :) (Of course, I owe my mom about $200 for the above equipment, but at least I have a good setup in the office now. :)

Discovered that schedules were such that we couldn't meet Adina today, and it was late enough by then that we decided not to go into DC today--that'll happen Monday, which I also have off work. Instead, we went to IHOP--which is not a subsidiary of LiveJournal, as I just started to link--in Woodbridge, making several wrong turns along the way. Ah, I'll get to know the roads around here yet--though a good ADC map book or two would help. Breakfast at 5pm was good. :D

Also got a call from a special investigator looking for Nathan, as part of a background check, which happens to be mine--I guessed correctly--and he needs to talk to me as well, so that was a fortuitous and convenient call. I'm meeting with him Monday morning; he'd also like to meet with Nathan then (but only for a few minutes), which I'll mention to Nathan when he gets home from Improv--haven't seen him at all today.

I really did get another 60 read, but then 60 more appeared. I'm up to Tuesday night!
