I like this post about Happiness. :)

I'm a generally happy person, and I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

But happy or no, work was still long and very busy--but not even busy in a way that made a lot of sales, just busy with a lot of people who took a lot of time with little return. Didn't get out until after 11. :P

And then I refueled my truck, because it'd been over 400 miles since last fillup, and I don't have a working gas gauge--haven't for a couple years, I think, so I estimate by fuel economy and tank size. Of course, it's a "20-gallon tank" and I just put 23.04 gallons in--my previous record was 22.6, at which point I was running on fumes. I guessed well, this time. ;P

This means, though, that pretty much all of the fuel system cleaner has been run through--with no immediate/notable increase in fuel economy--and now it's full of premium gas, and soon the ignition electrics will be replaced, and perhaps emissions will be reduced sufficiently to pass. :P

3:56pm
My dresser is now empty and downstairs; its ridiculously dusty interior and top are clean and the carpet under it vacuumed. In its place are stacks of clothing that it formerly contained.

My bookcases are mostly cleaned; they still contain a full set of the World Book Encyclopedia and over a decade of Science Years and Year Books, as well as lots of dust. In the hall is a small tower of boxes full of books; in the closet and in storage are yet more books. The many, many years' worth of 3-2-1 Contact magazine and National Geographic World magazine--oldest one I saw dated back to 1987!--made their way to the trash--I don't like throwing magazines out, but I know I'm never going to read them again--but then got rescued by Donna, a schoolteacher that my mom sits for. They're going to good use! :) (The years of Popular Science, on the other hand, remain in the trash, as the kids can't use them.)

Now, if I didn't have to be at work at 5, I'd wait for Tom's truck to return, and borrow it and Shauna (or dad) to move furniture to Lorton. But I do, so that will wait for tomorrow (working 3-close) or Thursday (not working). (The rest of my stuff is almost entirely in smallish boxes, and can be moved by just me.)

Update, 4:44pm: Bookcases also empty, clean, and downstairs. All the furniture I've moved today is surprisingly light, once empty of contents, shelves, and/or drawers--which is good, since I was moving it out of my room and downstairs by myself. :)

Update, 11:28pm: Worked 5-close. While we were pretty much done with everything by 9:30, we still didn't get out until 11:15 because there was only one closing manager to finish up and check everything. So, we got paid to hang around, which isn't really so bad.
Tomorrow: Truck ignition parts replacement, move furniture to Lorton with Shauna's help (most likely), mail a loan payment, probably other things I'm forgetting, and work 3-close.
