Yesterday, worked 7-3:30; it was fairly productive while staying pretty slow, which is fine by me. Ran into Art & Diane Messenger (Matt's parents), told them about the new job. (I also told the other managers about it after Ross had passed it on, they were all very impressed. :)

IMed much of the afternoon/evening/night, as well as installing and completing the software provided by RDR for the Single Scope Background Investigation.. lemme tell you, it's a pain accounting for ten years--eight, actually, since it only counts work past age 16--of housing and employment, covering every single month. :P At any rate, done and submitted to Carlton (Personnel Security Manager) at RDR, thence to DSS. (Art pointed out that I may have to fill out some paperwork by hand as well, giving them plenty of writing samples in the process. :P)

Bed now, as I have work at 8.. then the Programmable Electronic Party at CUE Wednesday night, work Thursday afternoon, and heading north bound for Ithaca (Friday-Sunday) and then Long Island (Sunday-Monday) Friday morning! :)

Work was full of the putting-away of new merchandise, cleaning, and generally making the store look pretty. And at 4, I was all set to leave, but agreed to stay until all the merch was put away, and the "stuff we haven't previously carried" tucked away, which ended up being 5:30. Why? Because the regional VP (or something) will be visiting our store at 08 tomorrow, so it has to look perfect. Like I'm supposed to care. I was already on for eight hours, and it isn't my problem that the store didn't schedule enough people to work the merchandise and close for the evening within their regular shifts. But I stayed anyway.

Now online, on AIM/Yahoo, and feeling much better. :)

Programmable Electronic Party at CUE tonight!

HAHAHAHAHA!

From Amber:
For Scott
Name that LJer: a large number of the atheists in this community are very egotistical, self-righteous pompass jerks that enjoy feeling high-and-mighty even if it makes them look closed minded and one-dimensional

Yup, you read that right. That smell? It's my irony meter self-immolating.*

Clearly, I still haven't been able to bring myself to leave the community. Although, anymore, my reason for staying is purely for the amusement factor.

* I particularly liked that bit.

Incidentally, I'm still banned from commenting in that comm, by that very poster and/or his cohort, genericgirl.

And now, sporting Reeboks, faded/ripped blue jeans, and a Master of the Universe tshirt (and coincidentally, MotU boxers), I'm off to the Programmable Electronic Party--New Wave / 80s EBM--at Cue! :)

Happy 22nd birthday, baranooujiEds!
