Friday Five - Organization
May. 9th, 2003 01:56 am1. Would you consider yourself an organized person? Why or why not?
HAHAHA yes, very/mostly. My mp3s are strictly organized, my computer is pretty orderly with respect to file location and shortcuts, my papers are mostly filed in a hanging folder box, my schedule/toDo/Memos/birthday/address/phone info are all in my PDA, email is filtered and foldered and archived, AIM buddies are sorted by group/geography, LJ friends are all sorted in an Oct/02 post.. so yeah. However, I do have assorted stacks of papers and mail and whatnot all around my computer that haven't quite been dealt with yet.
2. Do you keep some type of planner, organizer, calendar, etc. with you, and do you use it regularly?
See previous answer. Handspring Visor Neo, more than once daily, or at least the computer-based version of the same data.
3. Would you say that your desk is organized right now?
Ahh.. sort of. The stack next to the keyboard is mail that needs handling at some point; the bank statements on top of the scanner need reconciling.. but there are also stacks all around the desk (really, the end of the dining room table) in varying levels of organization/mess.
4. Do you alphabetize CDs, books, and DVDs, or does it not matter?
Nope. My CDs are loosely grouped by artist as in, if I have multiple albums from an artist, they're together); the books in my room are loosely arranged by genre; I don't have enough movies to merit organization. I've thought about alphabetizing my CDs, but haven't--don't have a good way to allow for insertion of new musics, especially because I like jewel cases.
5. What's the hardest thing you've ever had to organize?
Um. Well, it took the longest to get around to sorting archived snail mail.. like, a few years of college and a couple feet of stashed letters/envelopes..
Watched Spider-Man with my dad before and after dinner.. second time for me, first for him. Still really good, still don't like the ending, despite understanding why it "has to be like that". Want sequel(s)! :)
2:16am: And now, having knocked my LJ inbox back under 130 from its previous state of ~160, not counting the ~50 that came in and got immediate replies today, and done my laundry, and put away all the clothes that were living in laundry baskets in my room, and made my bed (it's had loose sheets for several days now), I'm all accomplished and off to bed, work at 8 and all.
